Seafarers are exposed to the different cultures of the world and they are lonely on the ship and away from home. It is natural that they are attempted to consume alcohol and sometimes even resort to taking of controlled drugs. This is highly undesirable and recently it is realised that they can cause harm to themselves as well as a major cause of accident on the ship. As such many countries require alcohol and drug-free certification before the ship arrives to their ports. As testing of these controlled substances require proper procedure as recognised by International Maritime Organisations, it is necessary that this test is carried out according to the guide lines set out by them. We are one of the few who have been performing this service of certification for many years and we have set up the procedure and the chain of custody for the checking of these substances. We are able to provide the service and the results with the certification in a day. Our doctors would board the ships when it is in port to obtain the samples under strict supervision. The samples are sealed and brought back to our Laboratory for testing. We are recognised internationally to perform this test.
